Description: Turner Field (“The Ted”) has served as home to the Atlanta Braves (MLB) since 1997. It was originally built as the Centennial Olympic Stadium to highlight the 1996 Summer Olympic Games held in Atlanta. Afterwards, it was retrofitted into a ballpark for the Braves to replace their long standing home at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. The popular new name for the stadium was Hank Aaron field according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, but instead it was named after then team owner Ted Turner. Aaron had to settle for having the drive outside renamed for him.
