Description: Lawrence Joel Coliseum (also known as LJVM Coliseum or “the Joel”) is an arena in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Opened in 1989, it was named after Lawrence Joel, a medal of honor winning Army Medic in Vietnam. It is the home of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons basketball team. The arena replaced the Winston-Salem Memorial Coliseum.
