Description: Bojangles Coliseum is an arena and sports venue located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It opened in 1955 as the Charlotte Coliseum. At that time, it was the largest unsupported steel dome in the world. Known to the locals as “the Old Coliseum” or “the Big I,” it housed the ABA Charlotte Cougars from 69-74. Its also hosted top concert acts from the 60s through the 80s from Elvis Presley, Rolling Stones, KISS and the Grateful Dead.
