Description: Atlanta Civic Center serves as a theater and fine arts center in Atlanta Georgia. It was originally built in 1967 as the city’s convention center, but that role was later taken over by the Georgia World Congress Center. Its back parking lot housed the annual Music Midtown festival. It regularly holds concerts, exhibitions, Broadway shows and even high school graduations. There was talk in 2007 the facility and neighboring SciTrek would be demolished to make way for a new performing arts center. To date, SciTrek has closed, but no word has come on the fate of the Civic Center.
